State capital with Bill Gardner

We went back to the state capitol and met with the infamous Bill Gardner, the longest currently serving Secretary of State in the United States! He took us to his office where each Presidential hopeful must come and fill out the paperwork for their candidacy in order to be on the ballot. It was a wonderful experience and walking through the office which had thousands of Presidential hopefuls signs, buttons and campaign materials all over the walls! He even made us copies of the original ballot with the candidates that filed for their run for the Presidency. We then went to see the executive council which was in session and got to witness how their process of the agenda goes and how they discuss agenda items. This meeting they started with a couple of ladies playing traditional music which was great to witness.

This is an original phone book that is in the State Capitol!

February 2nd Pizza Dinner

If there is one thing we would get used to being on the campaign trail is an endless amount of pizza! First night we got to New Hampshire we went to a pizza place in Merrimack to go over the weeks itinerary and get the time to discuss about our expectations and ask any questions. I enjoyed this night because it was the one and only relaxed night we really had. we ate pizza, salad and thoroughly discussed with our groups about our excitement to start this campaign trail. Fair to say day 1 was successful, aside from relatively freezing.

Last day!

February 11th- Will never forget. Today is our last day on the campaign trail in NH. It is bittersweet. We woke up extremely early 5am, to head to our internship to get our last walk packet. We all went together this time to cherish the last canvasing day we would have together. We spoke with a lot of people this time and surprisingly there were many that did not know who they were to vote for. The responses we received were either they were voting for Biden or they are going to decide the second they see their ballot and vote. For me that was hard to hear as I was not sure what the thought process was when they see that ballot, what difference it will make at that time rather than a few days before. Either way we tried our hardest getting people to vote for Biden because now was the time. February 3rd First day as an intern!

Very first day waking up to be driven to our internship placements. I was so excited walking up to the front office and knocking on the door, it felt like a whole new experience was just about to begin. We were introduced by the Biden campaign supervisor Milton and then met the rest of the team, Tiffany, Sal, and Carrie. The first thing I noticed at the office was a cardboard cutout of Biden which excited all of us so of course we took tons of pictures! They had Joe written out of balloons above the stage in the office and decorations throughout the building. It was one of the biggest field offices I have seen and extremely well decorated! Once our excitement subsided and we stopped taking an insane amount of pictures, we were given our first assignments, canvasing! usually I would be more excited about canvasing but it was about 30 degrees out and I do not deal well with the cold.
